Choosing the right body piercer is imperative

If you choose a person who believes that subtlety is the key to aesthetics and you are after shock value you may be very disappointed and vice versa if you are after subtlety and get a chunky piece of metal you will be also disappointed.

Experience and Accreditation

When hunting for your ideal body piercer ensure they are confident and capable and most importantly accredited and experienced. If they don't ask a lot of questions then assume they don't care and move on ie: Have you eaten in the last few hours? (your blood sugar levels are important) Is this your first piercing? Have you ever fainted before? Have you been drinking etc.

Their manner should be enthusiastic toward piercing and caring and calming towards you. They should also have the knowledge to ease your mind on the spot about most fears.

One of the most controversial issues is that of the age of consent. Eze believes that people under the age of 18 must have parental consent and failure for a clinic to establish consent can be likened to the selling of alcohol or cigarettes to minors. We believe it is in best interest for the minor and general public to ensure that the piercing clinics and practitioners respect boundaries and limitations.

Sterilization and Safety

Eze Body Piercing is on a mission to improve the standards of practice in the industry of body piercing. Community safety is our prime focus both within our own clinics and in our educational programs. There are many untrained piercers that have neither the knowledge nor the experience to offer clients legal, safe and successful body piercing.

The premises should be clean and tidy and so should the piercer's clothes. Their tools should be in an auto clave indicator bag with the indicators showing that sterilization has taken place. The needle should be an unopened single use needle and the jewellery should be in a small autoclave pouch with what looks like masking tape on the edges, if there are brown lines on the tape then the jewellery had been successfully sterilized. These procedures all ensure that you do not pick up any nasty infections.

Good consultations with regard to safety in metal quality and appropriate size, style and measuring should be expected by anyone wanting to be pierced. Our general advice would be to go to an experienced professional piercer for the best results.
